The following information was released regarding the subject Class Deviation from the Principal Director, Defense Pricing and Contracting (DPC),
The purpose of the Class Deviation is to support affected contractors using available acquisition tools to ensure that DoD remains a healthy, resilient, and responsive total force. Effective immediately, contracting officers are authorized to use Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement 231.205-79 (attached to the deviation at the link below) as a framework for implementation of Section 3610 of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act (Pub. L. 116-136). A forthcoming implementation guidance memorandum and Frequently Asked Questions document will provide additional details.
